I'm back. There was dancing and I danced a bit but oldies reggae music can be so slow and mellow that I doubt whether I burned many calories. But I did okay. I went over my protein and sodium allowances and did not get enough carbs, but I feel good about the evening; besides, tomorrow is another Spark day.

I think you have a good plan there for tonight. You know what to do. Choose what to eat, put it on your plate and move away from the table. Just socialize that will take your mind off the food.

Hey when there's a fest there might be dancing. Let this not only be a get together with friends but also a chance for some fun exercise. Make a point to dance if there's a band or music. It's hard to hold a plate when you are DANCING ! emoticon

Thanks, you're right about everything, especially about focusing on the calories only. I was worrying about the protein and fat limitations, but I'll let that work itself out naturally.

It sounds like you have the right idea i think a 1,ooo is a good amount to work with just this one night i wouldnt worry a whole lot about the nutrients but keep calories in check (its only one night) you should be fine. After all we are trying to lose weight not friends..LOL!!!

I'm attending a food fest this evening sponsored by Air Jamaica. I'm not Jamaican but it's a chance to hang out with friends I haven't seen in a while. I've tailored my lunch and breakfast to have over 1,000 calories available for dinner although my protein and fats are a bit "slim." I'm thinking I'm up to the challenge. We'll see. Any suggestions from anyone?
