I would like to think that there are more interested in sharing their writing in here when they join but unfortunately it doesn't seem like it is going all that well. In fact it is not going at all.

emoticon I just joined---In January of this year, my second book was published, and my memoir was published the year before.

I am interested in learning about freelancing---and discovering where and how to go about it. (am also about 2/3 finished with my third book) ... But as i love to blog here in sparks, I would love to write articles--things that move quickly.

Am certainly open to suggestions--and meeting new people! ..

Side hustles are great to have. Without them we would all be struggling much more than we are.

So how is that working out for you...creating as if? Are you coming up with cool topics..and have you published anything?

I write articles about any topic but religion.

I write book reviews.

I work at a cafe.

LOL

Yes, side hustles are nice to have. I do have a side hustle with a discussion forum where we simply create discussions as if over a cup of coffee or can of beer.

Is this what you wanted to know?

I think here would be such a better place to explore extension writing don't you. If you are freelancing you must be doing it for someone or something, would that not be the topic that you are seeking. I suppose topics would depend on what you are writing for. Example....a funny page would require fun topics, if you are freelancing for cards...what category do you write or want to write. Birthday, Holidays, etc. It's hard to think of off the wall topics unless you have an end goal. At least for me it seems to be that way. And are you looking for poetry, or just nice verses that fit the occasion?

I just in the last week put on a couple of writings in the Poets Forum for 2021 - I call them poems, but they are also considered thought writing or vision writing. If you read them let me know what you think. And give me an ideal what market you want to reach for your topics and I will see if I can offer any advice or starter lines.

Hugs
Joanna

Sometimes we come up with a through and if we do not put it down on paper it can be lost. At lest that is my path in life. I am not one that can sit down and just write I have to have an idea. Something that gives me focus. In the past it has been a dream. Perhaps I dreamt something that prompted me to wake up and right away put it on paper. Even if it was just a thought. Then late I could come back and set and pick up a train of thought. Also for me, I am able to create instantly something with that thought. It just comes as my pen is in hand, or my fingers are on the key board. I can write a complete novel very quickly. Now if it makes sense or is politically right when it comes to grammar that is another question. However it does not take me long to go back in and fix anything that needs it. Example: I end up with 90 pages of a story because I shot through it quickly. Me reading it makes perfect sense and most reading it would find it interesting and readable. But, publishers do not want to publish a novel without so many words or pages. So I have to go back in and add filler, something to fill the pages but not change the story line. This is where I like to add content that describes something. Perhaps a place, or a person in more detail. Something that could be interesting to read but not necessarily needed to the story line. I can also recap some of the story and do it more justice if I find it a bit lacking or an after thought comes to mind.

Once that is done and I feel I have the volume need to make it a novel I enter a third time and do all the grammar corrections. Keeping in mind of course that in todays world we use a lot of slang and perfect English as much as we would like to think is not always wanted in the real world.

I then send it along to two separate readers they do not know each other or correspond between themselves. I want to get their input on the story line and if they feel it in the same way I intend them to.

If all is good I send it along to my agent to have a look and or to the publishing company that I want publishing it.

From there on its all up to you the reader as to what happens next. I sit keeping my fingers crossed that it brings me some kind of recon ignition - well not bad of course.

Tell me how you go about your writing process.

Joanna.

Open your eyes America

As we know things are not great. How can they be when we are not great. We hover and want to what we think is right. From the left to the right and down the middle we are seeking to say something but no one is listening. Are you part of the change or are you part of the stay? Is there a right? Is there a wrong at this point in time? How can we stay strong when brother is against brother, child against parent, when we allow the outsiders coming in to make changes that they want, not necessarily for the good or the better of us? And who are we really?

Strong are the brave. There is nothing strong or brave when a crowd rules, when a crowd damages, kills, and runs rampant in the streets. We want change, in some cases we need change, but should that change come through destruction? The left says yes, the right says perhaps, the middle stands solid not willing to give.

War is coming and we for the first time will face change like no other. Our future will not be the same nor will it be better. Nothing good ever comes from war. War only brings change.
You can forget life as you know it in any form or religion, or family, it will be gone. Yes all gone and we will be starting over. Mankind is his own worst enemy, you have heard that and now you are about to see it in action.

No need to wake up America

It is time to look up America

Open your eyes America

American the beautiful, America the great, America the brave

Is gone!
