Nola, my DH was impressed and thought of you and Don. I told him you and Don live on the beachy paradise side and would have eaten fish and fruit.

Sunday – Cousins are visiting today. Spent much of yesterday cleaning and cooking, so all ready today. Got my outdoor walk in, though it’s BRISK and COLD again. Hat, gloves and coat and I was good to go.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Dorothy: We have had those winters, too, where there are still leaves on the ground before we can get ‘em up!

Travel safely! Enjoy the grandies.

Nola: Have fun. Having company here too, so doing aerobic cleaning!

Karen - thanks for the link. So you were not impressed with our PA Weather - lol. Yesterday we had hail 3 different times - a really weird day. Luckily I got my plants brought in Friday night and yesterday before it started I put away all of my garden stuff and raked the leaves that were down. We have had winters where it snowed before we had time to get to the leaves - ugh! Hubby is scheduled to go and get his nerves burnt on his back.

Barb - sorry it was a rough day - maybe some day dad will listen to you - lol - but if he is like my hubby it will not happen. Glad you were able to get her calm. I hope to get my lawn mowed one last time next weekend and to get the last of those nasty weeds out of my gardens.

Wendy - so happy you were able to spend the day wish your grandson and got to see all of them - always makes for a happy day.

Nola - keeping my fingers crossed that you get so see your grandson. Love that you use the tea bags before giving them to Don - lol!

Need to get some stuff done around here before I head to Buffalo to be with the grand kids.

Saturday – Well, it was a very stressful day yesterday for Mom. Mom and Dad had check ups and she was just so anxious about it. I tried to tell Dad to give her ½ a dose of her relaxer, but NOPE. Oh my. She settled down, but it was a day.

Otherwise, cold. Made soup. Perfect for this weather to be sure.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

OMG . . . . had frost this morning and at first thought it was . . . . that . . . . awful . . . . white . . . stuff. PHEW nope. Hope you didn’t get it.

The trees are definitely getting very bare now as we’ve had several windy days, so will be out there raking too.

Safe travels and have fun w/the grandies.

Nola: My favorite tea bags for the eyes is chamomile.

Tricia: Hope that the vertigo is subsiding.

Wendy: So glad you got Grandma time! That makes everything better.

Eliza; Hope all is well with your Betty! HUGS

Love the tea bags on the eyes. I drink the tea and give Don the tea bags to sooth his eyes after the injections. It is so soothing. emoticon

Dorothy have a lovely time in Buffalo with the Grandkids. emoticon Sad you have to bring the plants in out of the frost.

Tricia that Vertigo must be so misery making. So glad you can still smile I do hope someone can sort you out soon and you can get on with life. You are right our bodies are such amazing machines. Need to be treated kindly and healthily (not sure if that is a word) emoticon

Eliza glad the tea bags help. The wind is awful when you have seasonal allergies. How is Betty, is she better now? emoticon

Barb great your Mom and Mr Spot have it all together again. emoticon Hope your Lab results are good.. Mowing the lawn for the last time sounds ominous. I guess that is one of the upsides of frost and snow, no lawn mowing emoticon

Karen Pasta with leeks and cream sounds yummo. Love leeks. You always talk about these yummy dishes when I am in bed and I don't get to round up my magic carpet and get over for a taste (watching the mountains of course emoticon ) How did Jillian Michaels Shred DVD go? Hope your Mom is comfortable, so good she is within easy reach for a visit.

Wendy are you having a good weekend, not having to worry about dialysis. Hope you got to cuddle a Grand Kid or two. emoticon

Debbie have a lovely weekend without chasing the school bus. We have only 9 weeks and then it will be our 6 weeks summer school break. This year has just sped by. emoticon

We heard a whisper today our GS Alex who is 20 may be coming for a visit next weekend. We have our fingers crossed we don't see much of him these days.

Have a good weekend emoticon

Karen - I do like the idea of a lawn mower run by a bike - lol - especially on our property where the cabin is. My hubby is usually pretty good about fixing tires - but with his chronic back pain he forgets everything any more. emoticon hope mom is doing better today. leeks and cream - sounds interesting.

Eliza - I am about ready to use the tea bags on my mouth - I have a sore in there that has been driving me nuts.

Barb - I bet Mr Spot was so very happy. Yes - they are calling for the 4 letter word tonight. We have niot yet had a frost but the leaves are sure down in my yard - going to have to rake today.

Debbie - i am in PA too and I agree - it is cold - suppose to get back up into the 60;s next week.

Tricia - It does make a lot of sense. I hope they get it figured out soon for you.

I will be heading to Buffalo sometime tomorrow to babysit the grandkids.

Well, I hope that the PT helps, and maybe you do need a change up in the meds. But it’ll get sorted out. Vertigo is such a complicated thing as there are so many causes. Wishing you luck and that you feel better.

Thanks for not forgetting about me - even when I"m a posting slacker! You ladies are TERRIFIC!!! Thank you for your prayers and get well wishes! I felt VERY blessed not to even have had my name called when I reported for jury duty - though I know the judge a little, and I think he would have excused me due to the vertigo had my name been picked.

Except for the ENORMOUS RELIEF of the jury duty experience, I've felt a little discouraged this week. Saw a different therapist this week - she has more experience with vertigo, and she thinks my problem is likely migraine associated vertigo (MAV). She says the symptoms are very similar, only MAV is caused by vascular pressure on nerves in the brain rather than by crystal displacement. Not sure what I think about this. I do have migraine issues - have had for years. This episode of vertigo is a lot like my first episode which I'm pretty sure was caused by a VERY bumpy, tortuous ride in the bed of a truck. This episode, though did come on without any specific physical event - other than that I've had sinus pressure and pain since early in September, and the nausea has lasted longer this time. The doc thought that allergy/sinus pressure is what caused inner ear issues/vertigo. Who knows!!! I'm going back to the therapist next week, but if symptoms don't resolve soon, I'll have to check with my doc to see about adjusting migraine treatments. So frustrating! I will say that the past couple of days have been a little better, though I did wake the past two mornings with headaches. I'm sure time will take care of this, but in the meantime: BOO!!! (Smiling at the moment, though!) emoticon

Debbie: Hope your dinner with Aunt Grace was pleasant!

Barb: Your early morning descriptions had me chuckling! Never heard your descriptive expression before! Glad you got arrangements made for your mom and dad!

Dorothy: Is your 30 day yoga challenge a spark challenge?

Nola: So sorry about Don's negative reaction! These physical bodies are AMAZINGLY AWESOME - and I'm very grateful to have one, but they can also be a lesson in patience and longsuffering! I'm glad to hear he's doing better now. I'm glad another challenge is in the works!

Wendy: Ouch! Needling a bruised arm sounds unpleasant! I hope it's going better for you. My comment to Nola above, expresses my feeling about mortal bodies! Wishing you the best with your dialysis!

Karen: It IS tough to get back into the healthy living swing of things! I'm hanging on by my fingernails. I've done pretty well with my eating, but this vertigo has effectively nixed my efforts at exercise! I'm impressed with your bike riding! I have only ridden a bike ONE time in the past 25ish years! Bike seats are SOOOO uncomfortable! I wish I had room in my house for a recumbent exercise bike. I don't mind using those at all. I'd watch TV, or prop my book in the holder and pedal away! Your pasta dinner sounds delish! You'll have to report on how your recipe turns out. Oh! I almost forgot! My son has an interview at the Western University DO school in Lebanon, Oregon! He's excited! It's one of the first med schools he's heard back from. It's just an interview, no guarantee he'll be offered a spot, but it boosted his confidence that he's a legit candidate. He graduates in May, and if he doesn't get accepted to a school this year, he'll take the MCAT again next year and is optimistic that after this year of class work, he'll be a stronger candidate. It would be fun to take a few trips to Oregon!

Eliza: I must have missed something, but what are the tea bags on your eyes helping? Isn't washing the car supposed to be similar to doing a rain dance? I should probably wash mine more often. Maybe that would help ease the drought in our area!

Well, I'm going to go rest! My motion issues are tiring! Being up and doing things wears me out - it's so weird.

Have a great day, and a nice weekend all of you!

Friday – Yesterday was a very busy day, but survived. Had to get arrangements for both Mom and Dad to have blood work done tomorrow. So . . . that mission accomplished. PHEW

Otherwise, wanted to get the lawn mowed for the last time . . . I think. HOPE so.

So, onward to Friday.

Happy Friday

Nola: Glad to hear Don is better. PHEW

Mom and Mr. Spot had a great day yesterday . . . . finally. UGH

Dorothy: NOOOOOoooooo! We will be cold (and are!) but THAT WORD isn’t predicted yet. Frost this morning though.

Karen: Hope you have a good time w/your Mom and that your new recipe turns out well.

Probably won’t know till Monday re: labs, with an outside chance of later today. WAIT WAIT WAIT!

Tricia: Hope the vertigo has subsided.

Wendy: Hope the home dialysis is going better.

Debbie: Glad it was a good time yesterday despite glitches.

HI! Dinner was good but my Aunt's battery in her hearing aid went while we were out so she had a hard time hearing out. My step-daughter almost missed this bus this morning but thankfully this week is over and we can start fresh next week. UGH! Starting to get colder here too. I think they said down to 29 over the weekend and highs of 50's. I'm in Scranton, PA so its not unheard of but I still don't like it!

Talk to you soon!

Today I’m going back to see my mom then for dinner I’m fixing a new pasta recipe with leeks and cream.
This morning the weather is 38-degrees and expecting rain this weekend. The leaves are falling and the trees will soon be bare

Will be going through my fall decoration looking for combination Oct/Nov stuff

Nola ~ OAS (Old Age Sucks!) LOL I am also married to a Supper Sensitive creature
But emoticon I did 3” of setups and this morning my back wakes me up
Like my mom always told me ‘you have to be tough to get old’ emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Barb~ How was your lab work? What were they checking? My last lab and readjustment on Thyroid pills seem to be OK this week. Our weather sounds the same, did you hear about the 4” California rainstorm, it’s headed east into Utah but looks lower then Tricia’s home.

Dorothy~ LOL Yes that flat tier sounds like a good excuse, mine was flat also but after calling home to inform DH I’m lay on the couch I get home and our bikes are parked in front ready to go.
We need to think how to attach your push mower to the bike emoticon + emoticon

Wendy ~ Thinking of you as you learn new ways to get hooked up to your machine. emoticon

Debbie ~ How was your lunch date, make it in time? Does your son get today off? It’s teacher conferences around here. This school year seems like it’s going fast.

Tricia~ Thinking of you and am hopeful your medical team can get this spinning world of yours to stop
emoticon

Elizabeth~ what is Nola talking about emoticon is it true NOT cleaning the house is good exercise???

Good morning all - day 9 of my 30 day yoga challenge done - feel great!

Nola - so glad Don is feeling better - i am sure it is because of your TLC

Karen - that sounds awesome getting out for a bike ride. I have trying to get out on mine for the last 3 years - but my tire needs air - how is that for an excuse. I am sure mom will do better with a little of your TLC.

Barb - hang in there - I am sure Mr Spot is as confused as your mom. Yea for getting your walk in - the stars were beautiful when i went our to bring in the papers. I have to bring all of my plants in tonight as they are calling for that horrid 4 letter word on Saturday night.

Debbie - I am sure all if the extra stress was worth it to have dinner with your Aunt/God mother.

Wendy - those poor bruised arms - hopefully soon it will all be going smoothly,

Cabin is cleaned and the guests are so very nice!

Friday and Don is good. Great to be married to a Super Sensitive little creature that reacts to everything emoticon

Barb poor Mr Spot and your Mom. I hope they get back together soon. Must be so sad for your Dad. OAS (Old Age Sucks!) Lots of hugs coming your way emoticon emoticon

Tricia 14 hrs without moving.. How do you do that. You need a star! emoticon So glad the jury duty passed you by, at least you don't have to cope with the stress of that.

Debbie I hope you had a nice dinner with your Aunt and GMom and cousin. Glad I don't have to do that kid catching school bus thing any more. Keeps you fit. emoticon

Karen emoticon on the bike ride. emoticon Thinking of you as you care for your Mom. Must check out your BLC, it sounds like it might be too energetic for this little black duck emoticon

Eliza how are the allergies? . Good excuse not to clean your house. emoticon

Dorothy is it more cabin cleaning for you this weekend? Or time in the garden. emoticon

Thursday – It is downright CHILLY . . . got down to 39 last night. Supposed to warm up to 79 this weekend but then . . . it goes down the tubes next weekend. We’ll see!

Had my labs drawn yesterday. Now it’s the “wait and see”.

It was not a good day for Mom at all. Somehow the idea has gotten into her head that she can’t pet Mr. Spot. **SIGH** No amt. of convincing has changed her mind yet. Dad was upset by it, but I said, eventually she’ll forget about it. In the meantime, just try not to worry about it.

So, that was my yesterday. HUGS

Nola: So sorry to hear about Don. Sending best wishes.

Wendy: Does your pharmacy take medications back? Sometimes ours will. Good luck and sorry that things didn’t go terribly smoothly!

Karen: Oh Lord, yes, done w/the early morning rays! LOLOLOLOL Up @ zero dark thirty again this morning!

Deb: Hope your visit went well.

Dorothy: LOLOLOLOL Yes, zero dark thirty dawn was beautiful once the sun started to rise!

Good you had 2 out of 3 good games.

Good morning! Hope everyone has a happy Thursday.

Tonight I am going to dinner with my Aunt Grace, my God mother and my mom's cousin. Its always a fun time but crazy getting there. My Aunt is in an assistance living facility and I have to get there before 5 PM to make sure I get her before she starts to eat. I have tried telling her when I was coming, but she forgets. I have tried calling the nurses to let them know - but they forget (or just don't care). Being I do not get home until 5 PM I have to leave work early to get her on time. Its not a big deal just puts a little more stress and crazy on me. OH well the dinner will be nice and relaxing!

Dorothy - hope you got your cabin cleaned.

Nola - hope Don is doing better

Karen - sounds like you had a nice bike ride - good for you.

Wendy - sending prayers your way. Stay strong!

Talk to you soon,

Debbie

Still trying to get back in the swing of health living. Those vacations turn everything into chaos. Robert and I did get outside for a long bike ride. It was his first time since our move 5 years ago, so I took him the easy way with lots of coasting.

Bought Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shed DVD so that’s the plan for my cardio today emoticon

Nola ~ sending extra TLC for your Don and you emoticon Hope ALL is better real soon

Barb~ looking for my early morning rays are you done with yours yet emoticon

Dorothy~ hope your ‘7-strikes’ team mate’s luck jumps into your lane next time. emoticon
No my mom is not doing that great, Thinking about bringing her home early. At least I’d sleep better having her here. Happy cabin sweeping emoticon

Wendy ~ there you are emoticon so sorry your all bruised up. Hope you back home and able to do the needle without any pain. Hope the new medication helps

Tricia~ What an affliction this vertigo is; Hope your house is quiet and 14 hours of keeping your head still is the cure. Glad the jury duty selections are over and you slipped by.

Debbie~ so your son made the early morning bus race emoticon and for mom emoticon emoticon emoticon

Elizabeth~ are you getting your walks in? How's your mother?

Nicole ~ are you still shopping with your JCP employee card?

my poor arm, so much bruising but I was told today but that is good.
I saw my Nephrologist yesterday and he is quite pleased with me but has now put me on Heparin instead of Fragmin. trouble is I have 6 boxes of Fragmin (60) that I need to get rid of. Bummer.

I am still in the hospital system for the next few times but that is okay. feeling better about it all. I am going to needle tomorrow up at the hospital.

Just passing through. Don is not well tonight. He has had a terrible reaction to something that was used instead of the Betadine today. So need to keep the cold packs up to the eyes and other TLC. Will catch you all tomorrow.

Tricia - yea for the weight loss. 14 hours - yikes - would be a good time for me to catch up on all of my television shows. Hope you are soon feeling better.

Barb- who to feel sorry for - mom or Mr Sport. I hope those nasty men go away. Hope your butt crack was beautiful this morning emoticon

Nola - I wish my daughters would do that now - lol - that is why I get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed - but in between times it gets pretty scary!

Karen - how is mom doing??

Debbie - always happy to see you here - it is never fun getting anyone up early - and moving at that.

Bowled well 2 out of 3 games - the third one I could not do anything right. In the meantime one of my team mates got like 7 strikes. Tonight its up to the cabin to get it cleaned.

Tricia: Heck, a good weigh in day. Take it for all it’s worth!

Oh boy, hope that the PT treatments work. HUGS

Yeah on NOT being selected for jury duty. Always want to do my civic duty but am honest as well. When asked if anyone in my family is an atty., I will answer honestly, yes. Usually dismissed. OR once I was chosen for a jury to determine the fate of a DUI that ended up with a death. When asked if I had any personal experience with being affected by harm from a DUI I said yes, because my brother’s best friend was killed in a DUI (I was a friend, too, in High School). Anyhow, so it goes.

Prayers that the PT and rest help.

Deb: LOL Don’t know too many kids who are happy to rise early for school. What can I say! Glad school is back in session though. So important for their futures!

HI! I love this group that you all take time to actually reply to my posts. I need to find more time to reply to all of you. I do read your posts and enjoy reading them. Not much new and exciting happening here. School was on strike for 2 1/2 weeks and just went back today. The 10 year old was not happy to have to get up so early but we made the bus on time.

Talk to you soon,

Debbie

Quick check in:

Happily, had a good weigh in today - due to nutrition, NOT exercise. This vertigo has kicked my exercise to the curb. Physical therapy Monday helped a little, going for another treatment in a bit. Hoping to be a new woman - and able to return to full activity - soon! I have to keep my head still for 14 hours following PT, so it will be another down day today.

Great news: I appeared for jury duty yesterday, and my name wasn't selected to serve on the jury! HOORAY!!! Such a blessing considering my motion issues! Thanks for the prayers!

Karen: OMG. . . . yes, BUTT was from me. LOLOL Well, it IS the butt crack of dawn @ that hr. LOLOL But love the quiet.

Nope, not a calm morning for mom @ all. She is convinced “some men” (WHO????) told her she couldn’t sit with or pet Mr. Spot. Trying to convince her otherwise is useless. **SIGH** Not sure what to do with this, but for the moment, have Mr. Spot under my wing.

Tricia: Karen sparked me to remember to ask, too, how your vertigo is doing.

Wednesday – have to get thyroid labs drawn today. Will be interested to get those results.

Cold start to the morning . . . . 38 degrees and frosty, BUT gets me moving, that’s for sure!

Dorothy: Yes, it is one of life’s unfairnesses that men can lose weight and eat and not gain as much as women. Ah well.

Up @ that butt crack again this morning! LOL

Have fun bowling.

Karen: How is mom this morning???

Nola: Sorry, but that cracked me up . . . . bring the tweezers! YES!

Good luck to Don tomorrow with the eye injection. Yes, we have to be proactive in situations where there’s an allergy like to Betadine.

Wendy: Hope you’re doing all right today.

Eliza: Hope you are too

Tricia, Nicole, Deb and all the rest of you beautiful ONER'S . . . . hugs and catch ya later.

Dorothy have fun bowling tonight. Hope you are on a winner! emoticon

Karen thinking of you as you care for your Mom. I had this lovely conversation with the GDs when they were here. One of the things that came up was if I was in aged care and they came to visit was please please please bring your tweezers with you and take care of any stray face hairs that I have. Sorry the weather was awful for you on your break. Isn't it always the way that "they" eat the same as us and don't put on the weight. emoticon

Barb hope today is better for your Mom. You are a Star as well! Great you can still get your morning walk in. emoticon

Wendy was today better? I do hope so emoticon

Tricia how are you? Are you getting there with overcoming the Vertigo? emoticon

Eliza are you OK? emoticon

Nicole where are you?? emoticon

Debbie have a happy Wednesday. emoticon

Tomorrow Don has his eye injection. Have to really put my foot down about Betadine, which Don is allergic to. It is in his notes. The first time they diluted it and used it sparingly. Last time they slopped it all aver the place, and that night I thought I was going to have to take him to ER he was so bad. So it is not happening tomorrow....too scary, particularly when eyes are involved and it was in his notes. emoticon

Karen - tht must make it so hard with your mom. What happens if she will not respond once she is home with you - or is she just punishing you? It is so unfair on how much more a man can eat and not gain the weight a women can. Frustrates me. As for the panthers - first I was told i had to wait until the new start and then the other leader told me I had to fill out everything - i am so confused but I filled it all out.

Barb - glad you were able to get mom settled. Our day started out beautiful and then it turned on us. Got overcast and the temps dropped - suppose to rain all day. i like the - the butt crack of dawn emoticon I so need to switch my clothes - my closet is a disaster after yesteday.

It is bowling for me tonight!

Tuesday – What a gorgeous day. Just beautiful. Sooooo very happy that I got my morning walk in.

Mom had a rocky morning, but she’s better now.

Sis’ kidney disease is now stage 5 of 5. Sucks. Still getting the wheels in motion for a transplant. So discouraging!

Otherwise, going to make today a good day.

Nola: They enjoyed the pizza; I enjoyed the break! Pizza and I disagree, so best left alone for me!

So sad about the break-ins, but glad you have security cameras installed.

Can’t wait to see what our next challenge will be!

So good to sort thru the seasonal clothes and get things organized for the new season.

Dorothy. For sure – I am up @ the butt crack of dawn and it is definitely taking longer for the sunrise and in the evening it’s quicker for the sunset. **SIGH**

Hope you’re liking the yoga!

Tricia, Nicole, Karen, Wendy . . . . hope you're all doing well! HUGS and here's to another ONERFUL day.

Nola - that is so sad when you have to put up security cameras. When my son's bike was stolen several years ago the police acted like it was our fault for not putting it behind the fence in our yard. It was on our property! Infuriates me. Gotta love those catchall areas - not!

Beth - nothing feels greater than decluttering - way to go. Want to come do my deck?

Wendy - hopefully they can help you figure it out.

Barb - yesterday was a beautiful day here today - woke up to rain this morning. The sunrises are coming later and the sunsets are coming earlier - emoticon

Day 6 of yoga is done and I think I have a clear evening - maybe I can get something done around here.

Debbie I know all about those enclosed areas by the back door. They seem to hatch junk in the night while we are asleep. I must say it is a good feeling when you finally can get to all your cupboards. emoticon

Dorothy you just keep going on. The letting of the cabin has been great, hasn't it. So many calories lost with all that cleaning. Enjoy your lovely weather. emoticon

Barb so great to have easy Pizza now and again. We had it once when the girls were here. It is everything in moderation. I hope you have a good Tuesday with your Mom. emoticon

Have spent the day packing away winter clothes and bedding. A ghastly summer has been forecast, and continuing drought for the farmers...not good. Don has been putting up security cameras on the outside. We have never had problems with break ins etc before in our lives. This used to be such a safe area. Now it is happening all the time.

I'm working on another Challenge, so sometime this week it will be out there. So get ready!! emoticon

HI! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I finally stopped procrastinating and cleaned off my back porch (its enclosed and sort of a catch all spot). Took me 1 hour and I can walk all the way to the cabinets at the end - Yeah. Still lots of junk there but at least organized junk. Hopefully soon I will be able to go through what is there and see what I can get rid of. I'm just happy it looks so much better!

Tonight will be leftovers for dinner. Not even sure what is in the fridge at this point. My tummy is feeling a little upset since lunch time. I better not be getting sick!

Talk to you all soon!

Monday – and so the race begins again! Had a nice Sunday. Everyone wanted pizza, so that’s what they had. I didn’t just because I know it doesn’t agree with me. That’s all right!

Gorgeous day out. Walked early yesterday morning and this morning. Nice. The sunrises are later and later! UGH

Here’s to a motivated Monday.

Dorothy: You were a busy beaver. That cabin keeps you busy, busy, busy!

Wendy: I pray that the solution is easy for you and your dialysis.

Nola: Glad you’ll have your house back again.
