Hi folks, happy New Year!

Heather, lunchtime y visits sound like a good plan :)

We had fun at my best friend's roaring 20s New Year's party, and it was good to be out, but it was also pretty rough on both me and the baby. He seems to be having a spike in separation anxiety this week and bedtimes have been especially tough. I spent a lot of New Year's Day sleeping while Randy tended to RJ, I needed the rest badly. Yesterday we took a short walk in the park since it was so mild.

I pushed the separation anxiety limit this morning so I could have a swim too... He wasn't all too happy, but it'll be ok. I feel much better for finally getting back in the pool.

Hi all! I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday week. I don't have any big plans for New Year's Eve, which is good because I'm kinda tired from all the parties and people.

I'm so looking forward to 2020. The last 5 years have provided a bit too many professional and personal challenges. The next year is going to be so full of change, and also fun. My baby is going to graduate high school and go to college! I'm getting to travel to Ireland, London and India for work, and that's only in the first few months of the year. I love my job. I enjoy my co-workers. It's about time I had some positive flow in my life!! For the first time since 2014 I don't have to keep looking for a better job, because I have it!

Also, I lost a pound last week! I'm under 150 for the first time in I'm not sure how long. My actual goal of 130 is in sight!! Today I'm going to walk over to the Y by Grand Central to see how long it will take me to get there, because I think I can use my Y membership there. If I can, I'll start using it at lunch. The guy who works for me goes to his gym at lunch, and it's inspiring me to do the same. I thought about joining the gym he goes to because it's close and nice, and then I though that might be odd, and also it's very expensive on top of the family Y membership we aren't using very much (hubby does, kid occasionally, me almost never now with my schedule). So then I thought about Planet Fitness, which is only $10 a month. I just want to lift at lunch. I get enough cardio walking to and from bus. But then I realized if all I was doing was lifting, I could make the 15 minute walk to the Y, lift for 25 minutes, then walk back and be within about an hour. No one is clocking me, but we do try to respect each other by being at lunch about an hour. And then occasionally I could even swim at the Y. So, I'm checking it out.

I'm also treating myself to a brow wax today at Macy's. I have a gift card from my birthday I haven't used so I'm going to use it for that! Next month I'm getting my hair colored and cut nicely. I'm finally feeling happy about how I look and I'm taking pride in my appearance. Yay!

Sorry for the long rambling post. I'm the only one in the office and I'm a little lonely! I like the holidays, but I also like the regular rhythm of my life and I kinda look forward to people being back in the office. However, today I'm going to enjoy a quiet day and pray no one actually shows up later. :)

Have a great week!!
