Aww congrats! I hope you're enjoying your vacation and reflection

I had a lovely bit of studio time this morning, such a nice way to start the day. I'm feeling happier and happier with where this piece is going...

On a different note though, Randy was rear-ended yesterday morning. He's ok, a Ford sedan went about 40mph into the back of his Tacoma while sitting at a red light though. The truck bed is pretty damaged and we're worried it'll be totalled. We had been planning to save and replace my car, but I think my little Goldilocks is just gonna have to keep going a while longer... She's almost 20!

Hi guys. My baby graduated from high school yesterday. I'm slowly absorbing the reality of this. I'm so happy for her. I'm excited for her future. Graduations are a time to reflect on how we got where we are, and I'm doing a lot of that today.

Love you guys!! Have a great weekend.

ooh fun reading... I think I should try that, I need to cut my screen time... I always read articles on jstor's daily news site or the hyperallergic art blog, but with the state of the world right now even those types of opinion things are just too heavy. Printed material would probably be a way better choice.

Today was a day of errands and grilling a bunch of food so that we have left overs for a few days. Tomorrow is virtual pediatrician check up and another trip to the park!

I might carry the little guy around again, we'll see

Carol - enjoy the pool!

Jen - go you!

Heather - "I just miss contact with people who aren't my family!!" OMG can I relate...

***

Hi all! I think I missed last week. It was a bit less hectic than it had been, thankfully. I drew some firm lines around work time and that helped.

Today's a baby day (those seem to be the days I get to check in) and I'm about to eat a very late lunch. I'm hopping on for half an hour onto a call to argue with someone and that's annoying but also kinda necessary. Mer.

I need to find some time to do fun reading. It'll make me feel better.

xoxo

Hi! I'm not back to a regular schedule in the city, I just go in once a month to check mail etc. Eric and I were both fed up last week and said we wanted to see each other and work a bit more normally in the office, so we picked yesterday. I won't be back until July. I absolutely miss seeing him daily, but we talk on zoom all the time for work, so it's almost the same. I just miss contact with people who aren't my family!!

I'm taking PTO next week, and it's the first 5 day paid vacation I'll have since 2015. The last few years have really sucked. And so now, I have time to take off and I can't go anywhere. Sydney and I are going to the beach for a day next week and I can't wait. We're also having a small grad party for her Sat the 27th so I'll use the week leading up to get the house ready.

Houston has actually been working hard on the house and the yard and for the first time in ages it's looking nice. Of course, he can't do anything else b/c he can't focus on more than one thing at a time, but no one is buying art right now anyway.....

I have to check on our Y and when/if it opens back up. All this opening with people not doing the safe things is making me really nervous. I'm betting by Aug 1 we are back to where we were in April.....I sure hope I'm wrong but I can't help but feel this way.

Time for my lunchtime treadmill walk!!!

Yeah, I'm only 8 minutes away from the pool and I have a blanket that is waterproof on one side and polar fleece on the other which works great for the beach/pools.

That's great to carry RJ around on your back. I've done that type of work out for years and years as we near summer for backpacking. I'll put 25 lbs in a backpack and do 3 miles, then keep upping the weight and miles until it's no big deal to do it. You'll be amazed at how quickly it happens! Six weeks ago I couldn't lift a piece of sheetrock above my head and now it's no big deal!

That kind of programming sounds so useful Carol! The order systems I've used in the printing industry have been terrible lol.

I did a similar thing at the pool at first, just driving home wet sitting on a towel... But the outdoor pool has outdoor showers, and it's been empty enough that I've felt comfortable showering and getting dry clothes on.

We went for a nice walk in the woods this morning, I carried RJ on my back for a change so it was mostly exercise for me. I want to start doing that more often. I need the practice getting him on my back and to build the muscle for carrying him. We were out for 45 minutes, enough to get sore but not hurt

Hi Heather! Are you back to a regular schedule in the city?

I have paid work that I need to work on today. I'm designing three new systems with new software which is fun. I'm first creating a purchase order system on iPads which will work with purchasing agricultural products, for a mechanic's shop (for parts, outside service, preventative maintenance and labor), and other general purchase orders. It's cool because I can design it so that if it's for the shop it will require they use a drop-down to choose the equipment ID and which type of purchase it is. If it's over a certain dollar amount it will automatically send an email for approval and won't move on until it's approved. Someone else has to do all of the setups, so I just have to do the fun parts!

We have a plumbing guy coming out today to scope where the septic pipe is so that we can tie our new art studio plumbing into it! We found plumbing and concrete guys that will help with the job but leave my hubby in charge! We want to do the majority of the work, but a whole slab is best left to the professionals.

I'm sore today which means that I had a good work out day yesterday! Today is also my weigh-in day and I was down two more pounds!!! This the easiest diet protocol I've ever done and it's producing results!

My county just announced that gym's will start opening, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get back to the pool very soon - I'm so excited for that! I figure I'll go in with my bathing suit on and sweats and pull my sweats on after and walk out. I'll miss using the sauna...
