So it looks like we will close on the new house next week!!! It’s so awesome! There will be work involved, but with a positive cash flow of $3k per month, it’s all good!

I just hope Casie decides to move back in a year or two...

Heather - Yeah, children of that age can be trying...more so, I think if they are girls, towards their mothers! They do grow up, so hold onto that! LOL...of course, they still come home and hope you’ll do everything for them...but now, it’s always a joy to have her come home!

Jenn - NO! Let me go look, it must have gone to junk! What are you thinking? It would be awesome for you to come!

We took off the last 4 days and went up to Mt Tamalpais (locally, lovingly called Mt Tam) in San Francisco east bay. I had a company I needed to go help up in the east bay two years ago and Tom went hiking by Mt Tam and saw what looked like a jade outcropping. We went back last year to try to find it (he saw it from the ridge), but we took a trail that was too low so we swore we’d go back. Which we did! But, it was pure jade, it was mixed with different strata and was too flaky. We did bring a bunch back to try working with it, and besides, the trip was amazing!

You have probably seen Korbel wine in your local grocery stores, but what you probably wouldn’t know is that they have many, many varieties and qualities of champagnes, but they only sell their basic across the country. We went and joined again and bought two cases of really awesome champagnes! And, they are (I think) the only American company that can call it “champagne” because back in the ...1800s or whenever, they applied to be able to call it that because the roots were champagne stock and they were granted permission - lol...okay, total nerd data, but it’s fun.

How is it Thursday already?!

The boy and I have both been fighting a cold. Nothing serious, but annoying for sure. I haven't gone to swim because of it, hopefully my congestion clears soon so I can.

I'm busy with planning my fall classes and figuring out the details for my summer camp lesson plans though. Carol, did you ever see my email about visiting you and your art studio?

Heather, I hope the summer is good for you all and Sydney finds things to keep her busy!

Hi all! I got sidetracked yesterday with work and didn't start the chat! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and is ready for the week leading up to the unofficial start of summer! It was so hot here over the weekend, and then yesterday it was cold. Lots of temp swings this time of year.

I was dealing with a very sick dog last week, with a pretty clear indication that he has cancer, although the xray didn't show it and I wasn't ready to spend even more money to find out he has small tumors that will grow. He's almost 13, I just want to make sure he doesn't suffer. Well, I don't know what happened but he's nearly back to normal today. I'll take it!! Even if it's only for a few weeks it's nice to see him feeling so much better. That dog is so special to me.

Sydney is back from Syracuse and that's pretty great. She's applying for some summer jobs and I hope she gets one soon b/c that girl needs some work in her life. Granted she just finished finals on Thursday so it's only been a few days, but she needs stuff to do!! I'm happy to have her but I will admit, here, that life is a lot easier when it's just hubby and me. We get along pretty well and have made this situation work for us and the stress of her and her expectations of how our relationship should go has been a strain I didn't even know existed until she wasn't there.

Hope all is great with the houses Carol. I'm coming that way sometime for sure! Maybe next year.

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day and week!!
