So true Reggie. The comforting thing, even if we are suffering, is knowing why and that it wont be endless. For the world, well, I dont know how they cope? I guess by giving themselves stories to believe in like...dying and going to heaven. But imagine if dying and going to heaven is all there was. I much prefer the truth, and cant wait for endless peace in paradise right here on earth with the gardening, animals and people I love. And so we keep singing "give me more strength, Jehovah!!!!"

Hi fellow workers!! Just finished reading up on the posts. A lot is going on with this team. Glad to hear that folks are remaining focused and determined.

Satan and his demons are really putting a lot of effort in their "last chance workout" of trying to catch little birds in his cage. Each day is a little worse than the one before. But it's ironic...this world is like frogs or lobsters cooking. The increase of the worlds woes is similar to the water's heat slowly increasing...both of which have the same effect on the victims...the people, the frogs and the lobsters don't know they are cooking in hot water until it's too late. Sad really, but that's how prophecy was written many moons ago.

Have a terrific rest of the week!!

Celeste', I believe that is true. I think focusing on LIVING and staying as healthy as we can, making small changes along the way is ultimately what leads to success. I am def. not a whippet (love that analogy!) but I have stopped trying to diet long ages ago...just focusing on getting through each day...and making little changes to try to stay healthy. I rarely even sneeze any more (hubby is already on 2nd cold since the new year!) and I have slowly lost weight...ultimately around 90 pounds!!! (beginning of that was long before I found SP) We all know stress is a killer...so letting go of it is beneficial on many levels. Congrats on the current weight loss..be it a lot or a little. (mine is in tiny increments usually!) Keep up the success..whatever you are doing...and by all means, enjoy what you can of every day along the way! Wish I could come play or pioneer with you. emoticon

Its good to hear everyone so perky and positive. I havent been here for a few days, notification issues. As you head into spring, we are in autumn preparing for winter. Pioneering begins tomorrow...looking forward to that, even though my partner wont be back from her holiday till Monday. School starts again for us on Tuesday so its going to be a busy time for us.
Well life is odd...after all my serious hard work, I find it terribly hard to keep weight off, even with a relatively good lifestyle. In the end, I decided to stop stressing so much and just get on with life. I figured some are bull mastiffs while others are whippets. NOW I have lost weight doing almost nothing. Sounds ridiculous but maybe stressing about it is true that it creates cortisol which is hard to lose???

I will NOT run emotionally from compliments and hide in fat layers for protection.

Well, we are almost through the month. Sitting here waiting to hear if my study is going to cancel..she doesn't like the stormy weather we are having and last time it was like this she cancelled...as well as for a multitude of other troubles that crop up. She has so many things pulling at her.

DH is sick again...I can't believe he has developed another cold. He thought it was allergies and treated it accordingly until he realized the meds weren't doing a thing...and of course, that gave the cold germs time to get well established. I am so grateful for my reasonably good health!!

Spring has sprung..sure is pretty to see the baby leaves out on all the trees. I have been mowing ...and concluded we have way more weeds than grass in most of our lawn..but at least they are green. The mowing is great exercise. I did many of my steps that way yesterday.

Had the first presentation on the mtg last night...the first call. assignment said 1st paragraph which seemed like not really enough to get a call going. I had planned the one paragraph since I got the slip ages ago..but then second guessed myself and though it may mean that whole first heading #1. I conferred with the overseer, he thought yes, #1 so that's what we did. It wasn't until the Bible study part that I realized none of the info was what I had expected (parts 3 and 4 on the next page) that I realized I had been right in the first place...and had done too much info in my part. Then after mtg, spoke to overseer again to show him what I had figured out. He was as unsure as I had been before the mtg. I guess eventually everyone will understand this new process with more clarity.

Hope everyone is doing well and making good choices! New month ahead.

Yes, returning to Jehovah before the spiritual ark is sealed is the best thing in the world to do! I feel weird when I get compliments, too. All I see is the distance I have yet to go, but I guess we all need something to work on to keep us busy. hee hee

Flawesome, take those "you look like you have lost weight" compliments and be happy that you are making progress at getting things back under control. We all need that kind of positive reinforcement. Others don't have to know of the gains that preceded the compliment. You go girl!

And, we are delighted that you are back among this worldwide family. emoticon

Hey everyone! I have missed almost the whole month without saying hello!! So Sorry! I started my new position at work, and you know how it can be with learning a new job. Things are starting to settle down just a little now. I'm figuring out what I'm supposed to do, with whom, and how, etc. During it all, I've pretty much maintained my 5k steps a day, or very close, and I'm watching what I'm eating too. I have a co-worker who keeps telling me that I look like I've lost weight. Well, what she doesn't know is that I ended up gaining more than I'm willing to admit, and I'm just trying to lose those pounds!

Our memorial was very nice too, aren't they all?! I'm so glad and I feel very fortunate to be in the Truth! and more so, I'm SO glad I'm reinstated (two years this coming October). I still feel like the day I was reinstated was better than the day I was baptized. I had to suffer the consequences of my decisions (don't we all), but coming back was the best decision I ever made! Ok, off my soapbox... :-)

Hope everything is going well for you all. Love you!

We did indeed have thunderstorms yesterday afternoon. We've also had wind every day for days...and it is blowing again today...which makes it feel cold. Tomorrow is our CA and the weather is supposed to be lovely after a chilly start.

Two congregations that meet at our KH joined together at the Middle School auditorium this year...first time there. I have no idea how many people were there...but it was not full...though there were MANY people there..both JWs and guests. The other two cong. shared the KH...Spanish first and then the other English cong.

Hope you will enjoy your weekend Celeste'.

We have a super rain falling and Im grand child free for the long weekend and also planned on getting some sewing done.
We had to hire an additional hall for the memorial because we have so many congregations sharing our kh and even then, we had to ship in extra chairs. We were chock-o-block. I had my study come as well as an interested person so I was very happy.

Funny how things can change your plans. My Bible study is scheduled for every Thursday..but we do well to meet once a month..between deaths in the family(her family, not mine), illness, surgery, family issues...it is really tough to get together. Today, I totally forgot about her! I knew it was to rain with thunderstorms this afternoon, so I got busy walking early and had my 12000 steps done really early. I am so glad my husband was here to field her phone call to cancel again today.

I was really happy to get my goals met early, and then wanted to sew this afternoon...stuff I have procrastinated about all winter. BUT just before lunch, Hubby - who really has a hard time with computer stuff - said he needed to do an update on inventory records. He is the lit coordinator for our cong. and the other three that share our KH. Well, he downloaded his form, filled in a jillion numbers of data...and then saved it..only all the data vanished with every attempt to save. I spent nearly three hours trying to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it. I think it turned out to be an update of Adobe. I FINALLY deleted over 20 efforts to save the document, had to redo the document 3X myself, and figure out HOW to save it. Whew. What a mess, but I think it is done. BUT, no sewing for me today.

Hope everyone was able to get to and enjoy the Memorial last night. Some areas had too much snow or other issues that caused the mtgs to be cancelled or "come if you can".

I periodically stop getting notifications of these post. Aw well...I'll catch up sometime. We are experiencing better weather now that autumn has kicked in. Its making fs much more bearable. Today we did trolley work and met a rather "scary" man who wanted to lay his hands on us and cure us of our demons. Nothing we said, made him leave us alone. I was with 2 elderly sisters of 82 and 83. Thankfully a brother noticed our dilemma, came over and knew the man to be a problem and literally walked him away from us. Otherwise the field was really great, people were polite and the trolley generated a fair amount of interest.

My house is bursting at the seems with people and now my mother in law, is desperate to come and live with us. Hmmmm a plan has to be made. She is 82 and has lived for 9yrs with no meetings, in a town with no kh. So, I feel the need to try and make some kind of plan....but what. Another one for Jehovah!

Yesterday even though it was raining and windy like there was no tomorrow, we went ahead and went out in service. I didn't go out the Saturday before because of the nasty weather, but I didn't want that to become the norm instead of the exception. We ended up doing just return visits...only one person out of all the return visits were home. Unreal! After two hours of dark and quiet houses, we went to lunch at 11:45 am.

The two sisters with me had country-fried potatoes with biscuits and sausage gravy. I had to two hard boiled eggs, a side bowl of mixed fruits and herbal tea. Ahhhh....stayed on track both spiritually and physically so mentally I'm happy. LOL

Have a Sparktacular Sunday!!!

Reggie, I got tickled at your: "Balance? What's that?"

Also, we have several congregations sharing our KH..and the weekday mtgs for service are sometimes really full. There is a group of young men who show up regularly, looking so handsome in dress clothes. I find it so encouraging to see these guys devoting themselves and their time to serving Jehovah. I don't know most of them personally...a few are in my cong. The ones I know are serving as MS and are fine, upstanding young men.

On the other hand, our congregation is so big. AND we have two elderly brs who are definitely slowing down dramatically in their ability to serve the congregation..no matter how much we love them. We have another brother who has just been hit with a series of very difficult family circumstances...so for a while, he will have to back off of all the things he does as one of our elders. The remaining brothers are really going to have an added load as they try to fulfill all the responsibilities they have. They certainly need our prayers.

Good morning ladies. I wanted to spend a few minutes catching up on the March thread. I spend a lot of time on this site, and I tend to overlook posting here. Trying to get a little balance, and not overwhelmed.

Thanks for all the cheering and encouragements. Have a fabulous sunny weekend.

Yes, all the congregations are feeling something. We have similar issues in our congregation. The sad thing is, it's hard to find young brothers (teens - early 50's) who want to reach out. So many are into their little lives, their little worlds...it's such a struggle. So thankful that Jehovah's day is just seconds away!

So, we are a third of the way through the month. How are you doing?

We've already dealt with weather issues and DH's having some stomach something that had him feeling crumby. My study cancelled again this week. We really are turning into a once-a-month study. I've called on her for years..so even this is progress...albeit slow. A few changes afoot in our cong...two elders who are really slowing down are not able to handle so much, another one is having to take a break from his responsibilities due to some severe extended family issues. Our brothers are working SO hard...and our congregation is large. There is SO much stuff going on, not just here, but everywhere.

Hope each of you are faring well. Remain steadfast ...it won't be much longer!

"Sacramatomato "? OK. LOL Listened to a piece on NPR this morning and got tickled. It was about young muslims...and one guy was describing a stop in W. VA for gas...it was time for prayers, so they decided to do their prayers right there by their cars. They got down on the ground and were praying. Shop guy came out and asked them why they were doing yoga at the gas station. "Are you some of those Mohamadillos?" It was pretty cute. Apparently, not uncommon for them to encounter stuff like that. My morning chuckle today as i walked.

Started early again...up too late after KH and awake too early this morning...so got up and got going. In summer I do a lot of my walking early to beat the heat. Today I was racing incoming rain...which still hasn't arrived. I had my walking done by noon..and lack only one more flight of stairs. It is mild and breezy...great for being outside!

We're supposed to get 5 - 10 inches of rain by Sunday. :( We have our rooms reserved for the Regional Convention in August. It is being held in Sacramatomato at the Convention Center. I love that place! We are staying at a Residence Inn that is 10 minutes away and serve complimentary continental breakfast.I wonder who I will meet this year!

Hope you all are having a great day. Meeting tonight, have everything prepared and ready to go!

Another beautiful day, unusually warm temps for this time of year. Easy to get my walking in without having to deal with a lot of ice. I do prefer the cooler temperatures though. About 40 degrees is perfect for me.

We reached 66 degrees here in West Michigan today. Took my one year old grandson to the park. Last year he loved the swing, not so much this year. He was afraid and wanted me to take him out. Loved the slide though. We had a great time. Our bike path has a lot of hills, so I got my workout in pushing him up the hills in his stroller.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Some of my first efforts were next to impossible to figure out how to use! That is one thing about the Fitbit...it has been easy. The one I am using now is my third...and I know it has a defect (the weird counting of stairs that works sometimes and not others). I notified them immediately...and they sent me a replacement, but I haven't switched over yet. The compnay has treated me well.

LOL Yes, I had bought a spark tracker too! The battery kept dying only after using it for a short time even after replacing the battery. I like the idea of just charging it, too. I read in your previous post that yours was charging, and that's so much better than having to replace batteries. I also had one that I clipped to my waist band but after a while it didn't track. Then I used a phone tracker but I didn't always wear clothes that had a pocket so had to carry it. I think most of us has tried a variety of technology for our activity...maybe not as much as different "diets" or weight loss programs, but quite a few. LOL

Boy, Reggie, with weather like that, I would opt to not go in the tract work, too. It is very difficult to do tract work in heavy rain and wind. Hope your weather is better tomorrow. We, too, share the KH with other congregations..four here. And we rotate through the diff. mtg times. This year we are at 2:30.

There are many different trackers out there these days. DO find what works for you. Fitbit was my 3rd or 4th pedometer...can't even remember now. Got Hubby the Spark one..which he promptly lost during a project here on the farm. He found mine when they fell off but we never did find his again.

Our group decided not to go out since the wind was blowing so hard we could barely hang on to our hats and rain was hard. Nasty weather today. Hopefully the storm will let up tonight and we can try again tomorrow morning. Our discourse and Watchtower meeting is at 1 pm since we share the hall with Spanish congregation, so that allows us to meet in the morning at 9:30.

I know fitbit is a popular activity tracker, but I've been really researching the Jawbone UP3 and I think me and a friend of mine are going that route. My honey is so sweet, he said to go ahead and get it, but I'm the kind that it takes me a while to buy something like that. I want to save up for it specifically and not take from what is budgeted for something else. LOL Needless to say, it will probably be a couple of more months before I buy it.

Hope your weekends are beautiful! Love this months' Watchtower study articles. Hits my heart like nothing else does, especially the articles titled "Be Compelled by God's "Indescribable Free Gift"" and "The Spirit Bears Witness With Our Spirit". Oh Jehovah is so wonderful!!

This morning was surprisingly raw before service...freezing fog even! Now it is breezy and blue sky is showing with puffy clouds. We had very light rain around noon. Enjoyed 19 at our mtg for service...and had a very pleasant morning. To my surprise, a number of service groups gathered for break at Krystal's. Hubby gave me a choice of having an early lunch there..or going to Ruby Tuesday's. Really???? We ended up having lunch at 5 Guys. LOL I have a LOT of walking to do still, but Fitbit needs to charge.

Hope everyone is feeling well today.
Lisa...thanks for the invitations to the Fitbit challenges, but I don't think so, for me.

Hope you feel better Bee, allergies are in full swing for me too, still got to get things done though.

I love the smell of baking bread and chocolate chip cookies. I don't bake anymore. We are empty nesters and my husband doesn't eat sweets. If I bake anything I would be tempted to eat it and I'm off sugar.

We had freezing rain this morning so no service. Bummer, was up bright and early looking forward to going out in the ministry. Oh well, have to get out some time next week.

You all have a great weekend.

Oh I bet your place smelled divine! I wish I had more time to bake. I used to for my kids years ago. Not anymore. Once in a while I'll make something for a get together but that's about it. My grandson doesn't like to eat a lot of sweets, my husband doesn't eat much if at all, I don't eat any sweets period so no need to bake. ha ha

Yes, allergy season is gearing up ready to hit full speed! Hang in there until it passes.

Sunny, I made bread in my teen years and early married years. One year my girl scout troop took orders and I made 200 loaves in about a week...in a tiny apt. kitchen! I did lots of baking during my family-at-home years...quadruple batches of cookies, coffee cakes, desserts, pizzas...seems like I cooked and baked all the time. NOW I work at more healthy choices - know so much more than I did back then -and I don't want to EAT all that fun stuff...for obvious reasons.

Pinkee...hope your allergies don't kick up too badly today.

Just stopping by to say hello. Coming down with the sniffles and itchy eyes. I guess I'll be dealing with allergies today. No excuses. I have things to do today and I need to get moving. Hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend.

I remember when I was a wee one, my mom would make bread and keep it in a bread box. Of course, with a family of six, it didn't last but a couple of days. hee hee

Thanks Sunny...I DO like my bread though I try to eat it sparingly. Have begun making smaller size loaves..and may still have to adjust to the smallest size recipe. With no preservatives, they can go moldy fast..especially in warmer weather. Using Einkorn flour also helps to avoid the GMO ingredients (King Arthur Flour is not GMO, but it is not labeled as such..had to research their website). Einkorn is an ancient grain that man has not managed to mess up.

4000 more steps to finish. Mtg tonight. Sun is out and the afternoon is gorgeous..though cool. Off to go emoticon

Yes, looking forward to the weekend when I can get back out and get those invitations into the hands of our community!

The bug is going around in our congregation and a lot of people couldn't make it to the meeting last night. But it was a terrific meeting. I love the happy, chatty noise before and after the meeting. Being able to leave the world and it's ugliness outside the doors for that short period of time is so refreshing.

Hope folks are able to keep focused on their health goals. It seems when the weather turns good, the food does too. LOL

Asta, I was reading posts made under different topics and read the one you posted about bread. It seems that so much in food today has unhealthy preservatives! Good for you for making your own bread!
