I keep trying to log 10 minutes on my activity tracker but haven't been successful :( I love having it though as it keeps me motivated. I didn't do very well this week adding 10 minutes into my day but I'm pushing forward and trying again everyday! Hopefully I can manage to add 10 minutes to each day and before I know I'll be healthy and the pounds will have just melted away lol! Good luck to everyone this week!

ONE MINUTE AT A TIME!

Week 1 went well!

I've ten plus each day!

I been riding our stationary bike every day, usually in the evening.

On the weekend and my days off - walking through the neighborhood. I'm almost up to 2 miles.

Starting Week 2 today!

I've been shooting for at least two extra 10-minute workouts each day.

Monday - ran around chasing the kids, extra walk
Tuesday - up and down Mom's stairs for a half hour
Wednesday - up and down Mom's stairs again (and both include taking garbage out)
Thursday - extra walk and extra time on bike
Friday - extra walk, clean

God grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! I have found it OK to do the 2-3 times a week at the gym for the last 3 weeks, so I'm not adding on *too* much more than I've got a start on establishing, but I will watch myself to make sure I ease back if I feel like it's too much.

DreamerBlue, Ambitious work ahead! Remember baby steps are good, too. They may get you there more slowly but they will get you there.
The goal of spending time with your son sounds wonderful! Mine are all grown up now with their own kids.

Keep us posted!

DreamerBlue,

It definitely sounds like you have a well thought out plan. Getting out with your son on his trike, will definitely keep you moving. Good for you for MOVING!!!!

I'm starting this challenge over.

I started working with a trainer and going to the gym 2-3 times a week 3 weeks ago. I am going to be with my trainer 3 times a week as of this past Monday up to and including Aug. 22. The week of the 24th she has a week off and I will be busy with a lot of things; I am going to ask her what I should work on that week, but I am not asking for a "substitute trainer" as I am not sure what time will be best for me to go in that week. During the school year, I am going to train twice a week and go in on Saturdays on my own, again asking my trainer what I should work on those days.

So this is all well and good--excellent, in fact, especially since I really wasn't doing any exercise before this. However, this challenge is really geared towards DAILY exercise. I won't be pushing myself to do a full-blown workout on my non-training days, but I do commit to doing at least 10 minutes of cardio, as well as warm-up and cool-down, on those days.

I also want to try to do something active with my son more often. I'm not sure what to commit to there, so I'm going to say at least 2 times a week for now -- once on the weekend and one weekday at least. This won't be a formal workout, but something like going to the park, or going for a walk around the block while he rides his trike. This will help me keep up the steps on my Spark Activity Tracker, too :). I am going to add that to my "Other Goals" tracker now, so I don't forget.
