I'm not going to lie, I didn't get my workout in yesterday. My boyfriend and I decided to take a break and I am a total mess. The tears just don't stop falling. I am hoping to get my workout in today with both spark videos that I was supposed to do yesterday. I think it will be a good distraction.

Yesterday was my day 5 which meant it was time for the lean legs workout! It was in my personal opinion the hardest workout so far! I definitely felt it in my legs while I was doing that workout, but when I got up to do my 30 minute walk I felt it the most in my abs! It was totally unexpected! Today is my day 6 I know I'm going to do the day 6 spark video but I haven't totally decided if I am going to do cardio again or not. This challenge gives you two off days which would be today and tomorrow but I feel like if I stop two days I might not get back to it. Also, I have a few days next week where I am probably going to be pretty busy including Monday and I don't want to use up those days and then have to take Monday off as well. I would definitely fall off track. Plus, the added calorie burn of working out over the weekend would be awesome! However, yesterdays workout did put me over the 1300 calories I am supposed to burn for the week which felt pretty awesome. My goal is to make this weekend as healthy as possible and not give in regarding food. I am going to try and keep up with healthy eating and not give in to eating massive amounts of food and drinking soda. I have to keep my good habits strong! Sorry that I was so late posting this, apparently I was really tired last night because I didn't wake up until like 11:45am that's 10 hours of sleep for me where I usually only sleep 8. Crazy! I hope that everyone has a great day, and I will talk to you all tomorrow!

My day 4 was yesterday, when the day started out I was seriously lacking motivation, and my eating was far from good. I dubbed after I got out of chemistry lab that I wasn't going to workout yesterday because I was just too tired. So, I sat down and watched the end of a Drop Dead Divas episode and then I watched the end of the Scooby Doo movie and decided I would go and grab some dinner (not so healthy.) I then decided I would get on spark people to see if I could improve my motivation at all and so I turned on Spark Radio and started listening, reading, and commenting and my motivation was improved quite a bit! It was after 6pm but I decided that I was going to work out so I put on my workout clothes and I did my day 4 video and my 30 minutes of cardio and worked up a good healthy sweat, and it felt awesome! The day 4 video was interesting because it was a way of working the abs that I hadn't ever really seen before, although I didn't feel it as much as when I lay down on the ground and do actual crunches so I was kind of disappointed about that. I did feel it though. Today is my day 5 and I will be doing my workout after I eat dinner around 4:30! I hope that everyone is having a fantastic day!

Day 3 update:

Yesterday was my day 3. The spark video was an upper body video with dumbbells. I didn't get quite the arm burn that I was hoping for but that is partly because of the fact that I don't have actually dumbbells here at college. My 5lb dumbbells are at home so all I have to work with here are 2 old bottles that I used to get my chocolate milk in. They are about 16oz and I nowhave them filled with water. Needless to say not so much burn. Towards the end of the workout when we did the pushups and chairsquats I was feeling those! It was a good feeling, but it didn't last for long. I then went on and did my 30 minute walk with Leslie, and from the start it was extremely hard for me. It was hard for me to get my legs up for the kicks and hard for me to sit into the side steps, but it still felt awesome and I managed to push through it! The past 2 days whenever I go up stairs it's a total burn the entire time, and we have a lot of stairs on this campus! My eating was not all that great yesterday for lunch, and I didn't get in the 8 glasses of water. I'll blog more about that later in my blog. I also didn't start out today's breakfast all that healthy, but I will be blogging about that as well later!

I am so excited because today is day 4 and I am going to try and make the best of it! I have to do the belly blast spark video, and my 30 minutes of Leslie! So excited to work up a sweat again today! I hope that everyone is doing well!

xoxo,
Emma

Thanks to both of your for all of the support! Technically I could stock up on healthier options, but money wise it isn't the smartest thing for me to do right now so my meals are going to be pretty bland and redundant but I only have about another 6 weeks here and then I will be going to school from home at Shepherd University! So that will cause more temptations, because the food will actually be good, but hopefully I will be able to stick to the healthy lifestyle!

I just wanted to update everyone on my Day 2 which was yesterday. When I was doing the boot camp workout I didn't feel that much of a burn I mean I felt some, but not a lot. It was the day 2 lower body workout. Then right after that I went into my Leslie Sansone 2 mile walk. I don't know if many of you all know about the program but it is so much more than just walking in place you do things like knee lifts, side steps, kickbacks, kicks, and other things. Needless to say I was feeling my leg workout a lot during my walk! It made getting through my workout that much harder and I though about giving up a few times, but I stayed strong and pushed through afterwards I was drenched in sweat and I was exhausted, but it was worth it! I also ate fairly healthy yesterday and kept up with my journaling. I am definitely on the road to success! For more details on day 2 of my journey be sure to check out my blog and give me any advice that you might have! I hope that everyone else is doing an awesome job on this challenge!

Are you able to stock up on some healthier options ~ fruits, veggies, etc??? I'm sure the campus isn't providing the best options. I hope you're able to find something healthier.
My problem is I work overnights so my "breakfast" time varies each day, depending on when I sleep. I rarely get up and eat right away. I might have to force myself to eat something, even if it's a piece of fruit or something small.

Breakfast is pretty hard for me as well! It doesn't help that I am currently living on a college campus, and the options for a healthy breakfast are far and few between. I am trying to break the habbit of going to our grab and go option and just getting a doughnut and 2 hash browns everyday. I've also found that the chocolate milk I was drinking racked on an additional 400 calories. I worked out for about 40 minutes yesterday, and I didn't even burn 400 calories doing that. For me it is not worth it. These past 2 day I have just had yogurt and a piece of fruit for breakfast but I find myself getting hungry more than usual. We will see how it goes but I may need to find something to amp up the protein. Being a vegetarian in a carnivorous world can be very hard sometimes especially on a college campus. Good luck with eating better breakfasts! I know just how hard it can be!

It sounds like you are starting off on the right foot. emoticon I'm excited t hear how you progress throughout the month.
I'll admit it, breakfast isn't my strong-suit I normally don't eat breakfast or grab something quick. emoticon It's something I need to work on.

Hey everyone,
I thought it would be a cool idea to start my own thread on here that I can comment on to document my progress throughout the next 4 weeks! Yesterday I did good on day one although I had to use the modifications in the cardio kickboxing. I also did a 2 mile Leslie Sansone 30 minute walk, and after both of those things I was definitely working up a sweat. I feel like when I'm actually just walking at home or on the treadmill I make it too leisurely for myself, and this actually makes me work more! Today as my day 2 and I am hoping that it will be just as successful if not more successful than yesterday! I have already started the day out with a healthy breakfast! What types of healthy breakfasts do you all eat to help keep you on the right track for the day? I can't wait to see everyone's progress throughout this challenge!

Emma
