Ultimately I'd like to get a Vitamix but it is a bit pricy and out of my budget for now. I bought a Ninja a year ago and we absolutely love it. It blends everything perfectly smoothly and is so easy to clean. I purchased mine with a bonus food processor for $37 at Wal-Mart. Although I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart,this was an exceptional find. I make smoothies nearly every day for myself and my children.

I think the Vitamix is worth it. I bought a reconditioned unit on sale for $265 (normally $329), It is so much better than the Oster beehive that I had. My Oster had trouble getting smooth smoothies. It is easy to clean up, too. The only problems are that it is big and loud.

I am not a fan of juicing. I actually want the fiber so I never considered getting a juicer. However, some people do juice with the Vitamix. I think you just strain it after blending.

I juice, make smoothies off and on, use pulp from juicing in crackers. . . There are soooo many great uses for pulp or fiber. You could even use it in a meatloaf type of mix using veggies to increase the fiber.

Whether you juice of blend its all healthy for you. I use the pulp for other stuff like in smoothies and in soups.

the health issues that fiber help you with are if you are a lot over weight, a little over weight, not over weight at all or have a digestive system. i have the breville. i bought it after watching the mentioned movie. it's a pain to clean, and so wasteful. does anybody want to buy a slightly used juicer cheap.

For juicing most things a breville juicer is super fast and easy to clean. If you want to juice wheat grass for extra nutrition a Sampson juicer is best. There is tons of juicer comparisons on youtube.com

The purpose of juicing is to decrease the fiber and extract the most amount of nutrients out of the produce. It is different from blending. It allows you to drink more nutrition by removing the fiber. Yes, fiber is good for many people. If you have health issues for some juicing allows your body to extract more from juice than from blending. While both juicing and blending are great, you have to decide what issues you have or don't have and which would benefit you more. I have MS so I tend to juice as I have nutritional deficiencies.

I have a vitamix for over twenty years and I love it. I traded in my first model and got a newer one over 10 years ago. It works just fine. The newest models are even better. I agree that it is very expensive but I still feel it is worth the expense.

i tried juicing, and there is so much to clean up and waste. and you are taking in a lot of calories without any fiber. your calorie intake goes way up. the vitamix or even a nutrabullet will do a better, easier and be healthier for you in the long run. some of the people i work with also tried the juicing and smoothie thing and only the smoothie people stick with it.

No way can I afford a Vitamix much as I would love one so I bought a Waring Pro blender ( Waring were the first to make blenders ) and have made my daily smoothie in it for 5 years now and am totally happy to go on making them in my Waring for as long as it lasts and will not hesitate to get another.
I also like www.juicemaster.com for tips and free recipes and if you need advice one of the team always replies to emails.
I also have several of Jason Vales books which are excellent ( Jason Vale is known as The Juice Master ).
I absolutely agree that juicing and smoothie making ( and growing sprouted seeds ) is by far the best way to ensure good nutrition.

For good advice about juicing I would suggest Drew Canole's site. He has a video explaining the various juicers. Just Google his name or FitLife TV.

Does anyone have pros and cons to a vitamix vs a waring blender. I have seen demos for the vitamix in person, but not the waring. is the difference in price, worth the vitamix. Also on Sick Fat and Nearly dead, they "juice", and not blend. Does anyone have any history of using either one for health purposes, not just the fact that its good for us.
