I am following some groups that say do not drink your calories. This is said to include juicing fruits and vegetables. The reason for this is because the juicing separates the fiber and can cause a sugar spike. However, the juice of fruits and vegetables still contain the vitamins and mineral content.

Juicing can be a way to add in those servings of fruits and vegetables that you might not get otherwise. So, while you can get fiber from other foods, I think it is still best to eat the whole package of an item. Eat an apple instead of apple juice. That fiber and the act of chewing will help keep you from consuming too many calories. The juice without the fiber will not fill you up as much as eating the whole food.
