I rarely eat breakfast but that is one habit that I am trying very hard to break. Although, I didn't do a very good job today because I got up late so I will have to try harder tomorrow! You guys have given me some great, quick breakfast ideas though!

At least someone ate healthy. WE had a sleepover so today was danish and muffin day. I do have sushi planned for lunch and chicken and veg stew for dinner to make up for it but I'm having a serious sugar rush right now.

I too used to skip breakfast. I used to think skipping a meal would help me eat less and lose weitht, and I never really liked breakfast foods. Today I had a whole wheat english muffin with RF peanut butter.

MMM I love chai. Bengal Spice from Celestial Seasonings is my fave. It's naturally a bit sweet so you don't need to add anything to it. Frankly, I usually dont even add the milk.

On vacation and still managed to eat healthy - yogurt and chai tea.

At least my husband does help with the house. But he doesn't understand that just because I clean it once and the kids trash it right behind me doesn't mean I'm going to do it 10 times a day. I'm not the maid buddy. If you want one, hire one. I also have to cook, do school with the kids, exercise, keep up with a toddler and be the taxi. There's only so much time and energy in one day.

I know exactly how you feel. When dh is working his usual job they leave on Sundays around 4 or 5 pm, he does not get home until either Thursday or Friday late night. First thing Friday or Saturday am we're up dressed, take dd to school then off running for the entire day. Then he has to find something for us to do that eveing usually fishing or shopping, movies, bowling, whatever. He goes to sleep around 11 and I lay there wide awake still wound so tight from not being able to relax till 2 or 3 and then the son of a gun is back up at 6:30 and we're going again. Plus having to do his laundry somewhere in between all the running. This crap is killing me! My house is a train wreck because he hardly cleans. I'm just so done with it all. They have got to call him back now before I lose my mind.

LOL, that's the beauty of being a heathen. I can sleep in on Sunday mornings. HA HA, the little guy had me up at 7:30 but at least I'm still in my robe. I wouldn't be going anywhere today anyway. I am still fighting this bronchitis stuff. I've had it since Wed. and I'm really OVER it!

I've been keeping up a lame workout routine with short bike rides and the wii sports but at least it's something. I'm going to take my measurements today and see how I'm doing towards my bet with the girls. This week has really set me back. Grr!

I can't imagine having my husband around 24/7. He can't sit down EVER so even when he's around for his 3 days stints he makes me nuts. He works 12 hour shifts in a 3/2/2/3 rotation. On his off days he's renovating a house to flip. He just doesn't get the fact that not everyone thrives on 5 hours of sleep and hyperactivity. Ugh! He can never retire!

Sorry Tami. Nope no call just been awefully busy. I ahd surgery on my left arm on the 11th and got my stitches out this opast Friday and started physical therapy right away. Dh is still laid-off so he's always wanting me to ride with him here and there. He needs to find something very soon or I will go nuts. LOL

Yesterday I got my hair permed again and we went shopping all day. Including driving to Wheeling, WV to Cabelas.

Anyhow, for now I have to get going. Gotta make sure dh and dd are up getting ready to go to church. We hadn't made it in several weeks and pastor called last night and said we'll see you tomorrow right?! LOL Yes pastor, we'll see you tomorrow.

Talk to you soon! Have an awesome day.

I've been working hard too. I have a bet going with some girlfriends on who can lose the most inches between now and the end of the month. They're both apples so they're likelier to drop weight easier than me the Super Pear. I've been trying to get in an hour or two a day. Right now is a little tough since I have a terrible cold. YEsterday was pretty lame. Just Wii Sports. Today I did weight training and Yoga for an hour though and plan to get on the bike during naptime.

Sorry Tami but you got me on the buttermilk lol. My dad use to drink it when I was growing up, straight nothing added, and as soon as you said it I remembered the smell. LOL EWWWWWWWWW. I love cottage cheese now, but I do mine with apple sauce on top. I made a mistake when I was little and got applesauce into my cottage cheese and have loved it ever since. Matter of fact I had some befor I left for work today.

I found that I've gotten spoiled by my "girls." Store bought eggs are wretched. It's such a huge difference. I bought some at christmas for baking because they go through a down time in Nov/Dec and the quality difference of mass produced eggs is ridiculous. But then, I could rant for a while about the quality of our food supply.

Lately I've been on a bender where I've been having smoothies with buttermilk and cottage cheese as a base. Either mixing in a little avocado or some fruit. It's really filling and good.

I am sick of eggs too Tami. I have to make scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and toast every single Monday and Tuesday for the elderly lady I take care of. I am on high cholesterol med for cryin out loud. I can't even stand to hardly look at any kind of eggs on the wekends when I go to make a nice breakfast for my family. But the lady has to have it everyday or her daughter freaks out.

I normally would eat eggs maybe once a month. Usually have fruit and cream of wheat or toast. I've never been a bif breakfast eater. Matter of fact I usually have to force myself to eat it. If I do eat eggs, they are over easy, boiled with a ton of salt and pepper on them, soft boiled with rye bread broken into it, or poached. Never could stand a scrambled egg of any sort.

Out to breakfast with my 10 y/o. Ordered Denver omlet no cheese made with egg beaters, dry toast. Ate half and had the other half for lunch.

Mmm. Love poached eggs. I get sick of eggs though after a while. When you see 2 dozen a day, every day, they get old. LOL Even when they come in pretty colors like brown with speckles, green and blue. I also like to put steel cut oats in the crockpot with dried fruit and water and let it go on low over night. I'm WAY too lazy in the morning to spend 25 minutes cooking them and I can portion out the leftovers if no one else eats them for the freezer.

Anything remotely healthy I eat beats the heck out of the Tab and carnation breakfast bar or poptart I had for breakfast all through highschool, college and most of the way through my 20's though. LOL

Another good thing with eggs, it's no substitute, but poached eggs. No fat added from butter or margerine because it is cooked by boiling water and dropping the whole cracked open egg into the boiling water and cooking it just long enough for the white to form over it. It's really good on toast.

Thank you so much for the advice, I will put them on my shopping lists. I live down south and it's hard to give up certain kinds of foods that you've been raised on all your life but if other people can do it I am sure i'll make the transaction too. Thanks again

I'm on Weight Watchers too, and just started using the egg substitute in the past year really. I used to only like my eggs over easy - doesn't work for egg substitutes. :) But now I use that for scrambled eggs, and I don't notice a difference at all. Even my kids - 4 & 5 year olds - like them, and my 5 year old son even gets excited if I'm having "my" eggs. They are a bit less "work" too. I never make real eggs any more.

I have used Egg Beaters and the store brands, and don't notice any difference except in price. Some days I make them into sandwiches like today, other days I'll cook them up and add mushrooms (to mine, not the kids, they wouldn't appreciate that.) for a little "omelet" of sorts.

Give them a try - just buy a small container at first - and see how you like them. Every point counts you know!

You have a lot of posts and i figured you might would know. I have just now started dieting and I'm going into my third week. I am leary about about substitutes....like eggs for instance.

If I were to use an egg substitute am i really saving on calories and is the taste the same as a real egg? I am actually on Weight Watchers and i have this book that counts your "points". Eggs have a value of 2 points while the egg substitutes have a value of 1 point which would be good BUT I like my flavor and if it don't taste the same I won't use it. Is there a difference from one substitute over another?

I love breakfast!!! And it looks like we had similar ones today. Last night I thought of what I wanted, and I was determined to have it this morning, so I did. I had an onion bagel (frozen but thawed/heated in microwave) with some egg beaters, a slice of 2% cheese, and a slice of 97% fat free ham. Oh, and the obligatory coffee too. :) It was delicious!!

I made myself an egg mcmuffin using one scrambled egg and a whole wheat english muffin, had one cup of coffee with FF vanilla creamer....very good. Normally I wouldn't eat breakfast at all and be so hungry I would eat enough at lunch for two. I am just now getting used to the idea of breakfast and it's not as hard as I thought it would be.
